C/C++ 95%I'm an incoming Software Engineer at Square and a third-year Computer Science student at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). My academic focus revolves around backend systems, cloud infrastructure, and AI/ML, where I'm exploring advanced approaches to distributed systems and scalable architectures through my research.
As an AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner, I'm currently pursuing additional certifications to strengthen my expertise in cloud computing. Beyond the classroom, I've served as an executive board member of Beta Theta Pi and am an alum of Bellarmine College Preparatory. My development toolkit includes JavaScript (React, Node.js) and Python (Flask) for web applications, Golang for backend services, and C/C++ for systems-level programming.
Through a variety of software engineering experiences across front-end and back-end applications, I've honed my ability to architect and build reliable, scalable systems. As I begin my professional journey at Square, I'm excited to apply my passion for backend cloud design and push the boundaries of what's possible in systems engineering.
Experiences
Technical Software Experiences
Square
Software Engineering Intern
June 2025 - September 2025
About the Team:
Square's Payment Balances team manages critical payment infrastructure. I engineered the Financial Account Admin migration from a legacy GCP Books system to AWS Aurora PostgreSQL, modernizing infrastructure that supports 4.5M accounts and 2.5M daily transactions. I also built a TypeScript React interface with gRPC-over-HTTP integration and protobuf code generation, achieving sub-300 ms response times for 170+ internal users across 7 unique tenant types.
FocusAI (Acquired by Qualcomm)
Software Engineering Intern
June 2024 - September 2024
About the Company:
FocusAI delivered Video Surveillance as a Service (VSaaS) solutions using AI for real-time analytics. I developed scalable AWS infrastructure using Go and Kubernetes, reducing database redundancies by 50% and increasing throughput by 10%. Additionally, I built a comprehensive front-end CI/CD pipeline with automated regression testing (JavaScript, Selenium WebDriver), improving platform stability by catching 95% of failed commits.
UCLA NLP Research Lab
Researcher
April 2025 - Present
About the Lab:
At the UCLA NLP Research Lab, I'm developing a 7-metric evaluation framework to assess stereotype mitigation in LLMs across 20 occupations and 5,000+ generated sentences. I benchmark 8 large language models and 4 mitigation strategies (prompt-only, Ctrl-G, generate-and-filter, RLHF/INLP). Currently first-authoring a peer-reviewed paper targeting submission to ICLR 2025.

Software-Related Side Projects

CourseBidder
Founder & Full-Stack Developer
June 2024 - June 2025
Project Scope:
CourseBidder LLC is a platform that facilitates the anonymous buying and selling of class seats and other student-to-student services, addressing critical needs for accessibility in course registration.
What I Did:
I founded CourseBidder and developed a full-stack web application using JavaScript, React.js, MongoDB, Stripe, Google OAuth, and Node.js. I wrote over 3000 lines of code to ensure seamless transactions and user experiences. Additionally, I drafted business plans, legal documents, and operational strategies to publicly launch the platform in October 2024, achieving a projected market reach of 3000+ students at UCLA within the first year.

Beta Ball Site
Full-Stack Developer
January 2024 - Present
Project Scope:
The Beta Ball Website is a sports league management platform built using HTML/Bootstrap for the front-end, Flask for the backend, and SQLite with SQLAlchemy for database handling.
What I Did:
I developed the platform with features like a Home page displaying key stats, a Stats page with detailed player and team information, a New Season page for setting up teams and players, and a Game page for updating match stats. I also built the Archive page to store past season stats and player cards for displaying individual stats.

Weather Report
Back-End Developer
September 2023 - November 2023
Project Scope:
The Weather Report application is a Java-based project that leverages API calls to fetch and display up-to-the-minute weather information sourced from the US government.
What I Did:
I constructed a robust back-end framework to ensure the seamless and consistent updating of weather data. This framework forms the backbone of the application, facilitating real-time data retrieval and presentation for users to stay informed about current weather conditions.
